A note from Epoch Lacrosse regarding COVID-19

To our Epoch Family,

The global spread of COVID-19 is affecting each and everyone of us.  At Epoch we want everyone to be safe and healthy. Our hearts and thoughts go out to the people who have been affected by this unprecedented event. We appreciate the healthcare workers, local communities, and governments around the world who are on the front line working to contain this pandemic.

One of Epoch’s core values is Family first, and right now we stand with our lacrosse family and share in the disappointment resulting in the recent cancellations and suspensions of their season. We already miss Randy Staats lighting up the net or Matt Rambo dodging his way to the goal;  and we were definitely looking forward to watching the women at UNC avenge their semi-final, triple overtime loss to BC in ’19 and make a run at a National Championship; or watching Army West Point turn heads as they creeped up the rankings preparing for a final four run.

But it’s not just our D1 teams we are going to miss.  We will miss the live streams of the Adelphi’s men’s and women’s teams taking on their rivals or MCLA contender UofM-Duluth defending their turf against rival St. John’s.  We will miss watching the countless highlights on Instagram and Twitter while following scores on the Inside Lacrosse Scoreboard.   And of course, we will miss Saturday’s watching ESPN and hearing Carcaterra providing insight on how good a player was in HS (and how good his mom makes spaghetti and meatballs).

We know these teams will soon be back on the field and the sound of whistles, coaches yelling and athletes competing for victory will be heard again.  But most importantly as we wait for normalcy to return, we want these teams and their players to be safe and healthy.

We will continue to work hard, even at our homes, using math and science to create the next great product. And when the dust settles and whistles sound again, we will be ready to share with the world what is next.  Be good and Be safe.

Live. Play. Be.
Your Epoch Family
